The Association of Book Publishers of BC and Translink co-sponsor Poetry in Transit, a project that exhibits poems by British Columbian poets in public transit vehicles. The purpose of the project is to increase public awareness and appreciation of contemporary BC poetry, and to celebrate BC poets published in Canada.
Of more than 150 entries, 16 poems (or poetry excerpts), each from a different poet, were selected in 1999. Of these, we are very proud that three represent Sono Nis Press:
"Secretary Morning," by Leona Gom (from The Collected Poems, 1991)
"Leaving," by Sandy Shreve (from Belonging, 1997)
"Wanting to Know" by Susan Stenson (from Threshold, edited by Rona Murray, 1998)
Congratulations to our fine poets, and to the transit passengers who will be entertained and enlightened by their work!
