Christmas Stories from the Streetcar Barn
Douglas V. Parker

These five illustrated Christmas stories for children are based on the streetcars operated by the Edmonton Radial Railway Society in Fort Edmonton Park, Edmonton, Alberta.

Late Christmas Eve 52 dreamed that he was a streetcar again, not just a few scraps of rusting iron and broken wood. In his dream he was carrying children downtown to see Santa Claus to tell him what they would like for Christmas. 52 knew what he would ask Santa for, that is, if he ever got the chance. He would ask Santa Claus to let him make one more trip as a streetcar.—from "The Story of a Christmas Special"
